We are over the moon to announce that we have been selected as one of the 5 finalists for the High Street Shop Award in The Independent Awards!! Holly & Co received over 3,500 nominations for these awards and we’ve made it to the final 25 total nominees… What an achievement!
We do what we do because we believe the local, small businesses have a place on the high street. This Christmas we’re working with 238 small businesses across our pop-ups and markets! This is a figure we’re pretty proud of, and of course, we want to continue with bigger and better in 2022. The prize fund would be an amazing helping hand in reaching and establishing new pop-up destinations across the UK much more efficiently and cost-effectively.
If we take a quick trip down memory lane, Curated Makers started as a market stall table in Leeds selling a curation of only 5 makers. Megan then continued to showcase a very limited amount of small businesses’ products to various markets across the North. Fast forward and we are capturing our beautiful stores filled with evolving curations of hundreds of small businesses and customers who are in awe of what they can find.
What it really all comes down to at the end of the day is the talent that can be found in our Great British cities and the creative community within them. Without them, we wouldn’t be here. So thank goodness there are so many brave and creative madmen and women out there who have followed their passions, so we can follow ours! We’ve collected some of our fondest memories of the makers we have had the pleasure to work alongside with throughout the ups and downs of the past couple of years...
This Christmas we have set up eight amazing retail pop-ups across the country. We have our brand new Curated Makers Markets set up at Oxford Street, Cribbs Causeway, Solihull and Cheadle. We have two thriving stand-alone stores in Meadowhall, Sheffield and the Trinity Centre, Leeds. AND two further pop-ups in Manchester with retail partners John Lewis and Next! We're doing all we can to bring local businesses to the High Street this year, so why not come along and see for yourself!
