Curated Makers joined The Prince's Trust at their IWD-themed marketplace at Battersea Power Station on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th March. As a part of their #ChangeAGirlsLife campaign, the event was all about empowering women with the skills they need to work.
The two-day market featured over 15 independent businesses founded by young women who have been through the Trust's Enterprise programme, including the brilliant Kam Creates, Pimp Your Plants, Nwanne and Coconut Palm.
It was inspiring to set up our market stall amongst fellow female-owned businesses selling their beautiful makes and trust us, the standard was very high! We cannot praise the Enterprise programme enough for its support during the beginning stages of the business and for introducing Megan to her mentor who she still looks for guidance and advice to this day.
Megan was asked to share her story with the room, including a group of young female students and even hosted a Q&A with them at the end. This was also a fantastic opportunity to meet incredible celebrity ambassadors of The Prince's Trust who came to support the event, including Levi Roots, Pixie Lott and Gaby Roslin. They each took the time to chat with each stallholder and pass on their advice and words of wisdom.
It was a fantastic day, full of reflection and inspiration. Thank you to The Prince's Trust for hosting such a brilliant event!
